SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Dates: The main days are Friday and Saturday, October 7-8. The early bird day is Thursday, October 6. Some may come in as early as Wednesday, October 5.
There will be ultralights, light planes, gyrocopters, helicopters, trikes, powered parachutes, experimental (home built) and conventional fixed-wing aircraft. See Philip fly the foot-launched Powered Paraglider. He'll be there along with his spouse and ground crew Janie. There is a 1300' grass (sod) light plane / ultralight strip parallel to the asphalt runway with a 500' x 200' trike/powered parachute strip at right angles.

The local EAA 172 flying club food trailer might be at the airport all day Saturday. Usually they serve softdrinks, some snacks, hamburgers, hotdogs, and sometimes barbecue. But if they are not there, within a short walking distance from the runway is a Huddle House (next to the Western Motel), a Café-Deli inside of a Jet Food BP truck stop, a Deli inside of the Ingles supermarket, and a Chinese restaurant. A half mile away is a KFC-Taco Bell, the La Cabaña Mexican restaurant, and a McDonalds. 3/4 mile away is Peggy's, a home-style restaurant. And at that light, if you turn left, is a Subway. One mile away is the fabulous Mennonite restaurant and bakery with fresh, delicious pastries.

Pattern altitude for Light Planes, Ultralights, Gyrocopterss, Trikes, Powered Parachutes using the grass strip is 500' AGL (950' MSL). Pattern altitude for conventional aircraft using the paved runway is 1000' AGL (1450' MSL).

The paved runway is 29L and 11R -------------- The grass-sod runway is 29R and 11L

To clarify: Asphalt runway 29 has a LEFT HAND pattern. Asphalt runway 11 has a RIGHT HAND pattern.

Grass strip runway 29 has a RIGHT HAND pattern. Grass strip runway 11 has a LEFT HAND pattern

The asphalt runway is in good condition! The grass strip is smooth and well-mowed!

CHECK THE LOCAL NOTAM FOR 65J
TO SEE WHEN PATTERN CHANGES ARE EFFECTIVE

There are restaurants, a supermarket, and a truck stop right next to the airport. There is also a motel next to the airport: The Western Motel -- phone 706-547-3021, which has special rates for the fly-in (ask for the Commercial Rate). There is a BP gas station across from the airport. Avgas is not available at the airport. There are restrooms, hot shower, resting places (couches, easy chairs) etc. in the airport lounge which is open all night.
